MET-YÖS 2020 General Information

Examination Application Procedure

-   Exam applications should be made online via www.metropolyos.com.

-   All applicants should carefully fill in  the Online Application Form .

-   Applicants are responsible for consequences that occur due to mistakes, made while filling in the Online Application Form. Identity fields should be filled in with the applicant’s passport information without any abbreviations.

-   The e-mail address required in the Online Application Form should belong to the applicant and every applicant should provide only one e-mail address. It  should not be used for correspondence or transactions on behalf of other applicants.

-   The digital version of the applicant’s photo must be attached to the relevant section on the application form. As this photo will be printed on the Examination Admission Document, it must be taken within the last six months with a frontal view of the face,  to reflect your current appearance. The applicant must avoid significant changes in her or his appearance which can make her or his less recognizable on the examination day. It must be taken into consideration that if the Head of the Examination Hall can not recognize the identitiy of the applicant, s/he has the right to reject the exam applicant.

-   Those applicants who have filled in and registired the Application Form will get an Applicant ID sent to their e-mail. The Applicant ID can demanded only once. As the Applicant ID and password is necessary for all stages of the examination and for all future transactions with the MET-YÖS Examination Department, applicants should keep them carefully.

-   The Examination Fee is 20 TL in exam centers within Turkey and in exam centers abroad it is 70 TL/10 USD/10 Euro.

-   The payment method of the examination can change according to the exam center that you choose. You can pay by “credit card”, “bank transfer” or you can make the payment  directly in the examination centers.

-   After your payment is finished and confirmed by us, a notice like “your payment is confirmed” will appear. The applicants whose payments are not confirmed will not get an Exam Admission Document and they will not be allowed to take the examination.

-   In the event that the exam cannot be performed in any center of the country or abroad due to reasons not originating from Metropol, the exam is done online and no exam application fee is refunded.

-    The remittance fee charged by the bank is not included in the examination fee, it should be added to the payment. Otherwise your payment will be invalid and not confirmed.

-After payments are confirmed, applicants can not change their personal information.

-Metropol Educational Institutions’ students are exempted from the examination fee.

-The Application Fees received from applicants can not be transferred to coming years. If an applicant decides not to apply to the examination, if her/ his application is invalid, if she/ he can not or does not want to take the exam, if she/he is rejected, if she/ he is taken from the examination, if she/ he has not succeeded or if an applicant has paid unnecessary fees for any transactions, although having paid the examination fee, , will not get their money back. Applications of applicants who have not paid the fees, will not be accepted.


About the exam

-   The examination will be held on Wednesday, April 21th, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. The examination time will be determined according to the local time in the centers abroad.

-   Applicants are not allowed to bring their mobile phones or other tools to the examination hall, except a soft pencil, a rubber, a sharpener and optionally a watch. Otherwise they can not take the exam.

-   Applicants will be admitted to the examination halls by an identification control starting at 11.30 a.m. on the exam day. The exam will start at 12 p.m. and completed as a single session. It is of great importance that applicants are at least one hour before the beginning of the exam in front of the building for their punctual admission to the examination hall.

-   Applicants can check up on their Exam Entrance Cards where they have to take the exam. They must bring their printed Exam Entrance Cards, their passport or ID card to the examination hall.

-   The exam consists of a Basic Learning Skills Test in Turkish and English, including 80 questions in total and the exam duration will be 120 minutes. There will be no Turkish Language Test.

-   This test includes 45 intelligence quotient questions (IQ), 30 mathematics questions and 5 geometry questions.

-   The booklets consist of multiple-choice questions and only one choice among five alternatives is the correct answer. Answers will be considered as wrong if the applicant marks more than one choice or she/he does not mark clearly.

-   The questions of the test have the same content with questions in Foreign Student Tests made by universities.

-   It is against the rules for applicants to talk, cheat or help others during the examination. If applicants violate those rules, they will be disqualified.

-   At the end of the examination, applicants must hand the question booklets with their answer sheets  to the head of the examination hall as instructed. Applicants who have violated the rules or not handed their answer sheets at the end of the examination, will not get an Examination Result Card.


Evaluation  and announcement of the exam results

-   The results of the MET-YÖS Basic Learning Skills Test are scored on 80 raw scores and afterwards these raw scores will be converted to 100 standard points (80*1.25=100). One correct answer will be delated for four incorrect answers.

-   The results of examination will be announced on Friday, April 30th, 2021 and each applicant can check them on their Examination Entrance Screen.


Notes

-   Latin characters  and Turkish or  English Language are used for the communication between the MET-YÖS Department and the applicants.

-   MET-YÖS results can not be used for application to universities. This exam is organised for applicants in order to check their levels and test themselves before taking the Foreign Student Exams of Universities in Turkey.
